Punchdrunk "Wind Up the Devil Clock"

Punchdrunk was a rock band that started in the furnace room underneath my childhood living room in Whitefish Bay Wi in 1989 and ended in a rehearsal space underneath a bodega off of St. Marks in the East Village NYC in 1999. In the decade between those two basements, we released three albums, two 7 inches, three cassettes, lived in three different metropoles, and toured much of these United States in a dangerously decrepit white Chevy van.

After our last album Bird, Bird, we continued to record, but the songs were never released (dramatic pause)... until now!

Wind Up The Devil Clock is from our last two recording sessions with Michael W. Wisti at Albatross Studios in Minneapolis. In the interest of the "if not now, when?" thinking this pandemic has engendered, we're putting this out there for thems that care and for thems that were unaware. Please put on your cleanest whites, crank it up, and enjoy...

Much love to my Punchdrunk brethren -- Judd Counsell, Rick Donner and Galen Polivka -- and to all the very fine / insane / lovely folks we befriended along the way.

(PS - There's more in the vault, headed your way soon).
